Dear Brian Freeman, Program Chairperson, (and all others):
The Gulf State Guards and several other reenactors will meet for breakfast at Waffle Shoppe, located on 23rd Street, just west of the intersection with Jenks Avenue, after 7 AM on Monday, May 26, 2008. All reenactors will be at Kent Forest Lawn Cemetery, located at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and 23rd Street, Panama City, FL. at 8:30 AM. We plan to arrive at 8:30 AM and be ready by 9 AM. Does this time table fit your schedule?
I have gotten emails which indicate we have the following people and "items"available and planning to attend. There may be a few more after I send out this email. If I skip anyone in the list, please give me a "Howdy" and advise me, "Ya'll." There is always room for more.
The Gulf State Guards Honor Guard and other reenactors (veterans and patriots in period attire with muskets, gunpowder, and full uniforms, both Confederate and Union) who have told me they plan to attend are:
Trent Arthur, Bainbridge, GA
Ron Boyce, Chipley, FL
Karen and Shon Donovan (that boy can sing), Pensacola, FL
Tate Ingles, PC, FL
Bill Kelsey, PC, FL
Stan Peacock, PC, FL
Joe Richey, and maybe his son, Marianna, FL
Dutch Sanger, PC, FL
Tater Smith, PC, FL
Mike Woodrum, PC, FL
Doc Woody Woodrum, PC, FL
Matt Yeaton, PC, FL
Charles Zeigler, Newton, AL
The Bufflalo Soldiers from Marianna, FL, Will Barnes and company
Robert Stopka with his 1941 DodgeWC4 or his 42 Willys MB
Andrew Lowther, maybe reenactor, or maybe with Robert Stopka
John Edgeworth with his Korean War Jeep
Karen and Shon Donovan with their cannon and the "usual suspects."
Sons of Confederate Veterans, 1st Lt. Thomas H. Gainer Camp 1319, Panama City, FL
Sons of Confederate Veterans, Theophilus West, MD Camp 1346, Marianna, FL, Honor Guard members
Ashley Pollette & Robert Daffin of Southern Heritage Television Show, Chipola College, Marianna, FL.
Sons of Confederate Veterans, Washington County, FL Camp 1541
These folks are dedicated reenactors and history preservationists. They may bring a few stragglers with them who are more than welcome. Write me if you plan to attend.
Since Judge Glenn Hess is the speaker this time, we may have to arrange "something special" for him. I am working on that and we will see what we can do for him.
We look forward to it.
Sincerely,
Stan
The Gulf State Guards
