I spent 3 hours talking with the owner Richard Bates and staff as well as interested customers. The owners are very CW interested and that is evident both in the menu and the decoration of the place. The menu is a southern barbecue with trimmings that makes one think of meals 140 years ago but I expect not as good. The smoking of beef, pork and ribs is done on the premises and easily met my expectations of good barbecue and very reasonably priced. It's about 2 hours away for me but I will definitely be traveling back on occasion for the food. I highly recommend the place. During the time that I was there no one from the 15th AL showed up. They must have heard that the 20th was in town. Please post this to the membership as they are eager to meet reenactors.
